We at VIVO Defence Services are proud to have been been ranked 17th in a list of the UK’s top 50 employers of British veterans – the first time we have applied and asked to be considered for this accolade
The prestigious 50 GREAT British Employers of Veterans 2025 list has been compiled by the organisers of the Forces in Business Awards, the world’s largest celebration of veterans in second careers.
And it is seen as the leading benchmark and ranking of the top companies employing veterans and other members of the Armed Forces community in the UK.
We at VIVO work for the UK military and its partners and started operating in 2022.
Since then, we been committed to ensure it provides social value for the communities it serves and in the areas it operates.
This includes pledging that at least one fifth of new employees have a military connection – which we achieved in 12 months - and supporting three official military benevolent charities – The Royal Navy and Marines Charity, The Army Benevolent Fund and the RAF Benevolent Fund – all of which support veterans.
We at VIVO also support our own veterans through our Armed Forces Kinship Network – which discusses veterans’ issues, raises money for veteran charities and acts as support and social group providing a link between the business and our veteran employees.
We also provide health, mental and emotional wellbeing support for new starters with a military background, holds a silver award from the UK Ministry of Defence's Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and offer work placements for service personnel to help upskill those due to finish military service - giving them trade experience in a relevant skill and helping them be ready for civilian life.
We at VIVO are in good company and is ranked among some of the UK’s biggest employers including Amazon, Microsoft, Lloyds of London, Airbus and Vodafone.
In joint first place are Babcock – a tier one supply chain partner of VIVO - and BAE Systems. Serco, one of VIVO’s 50/50 joint shareholders are listed third.
